Classification of PVC flooring



At present, PVC sheet flooring can be made into two types, one is the floor with the same pattern and material from the bottom to the surface. If the surface is burned or scratched, it can be repaired by waxing with a sander. . The other is a composite type in which the top layer is a pure PVC transparent layer and then a printed layer and a foam layer are added underneath. It can be seen that the same quality transparent material is much better than the composite type.

From the morphological point of view, it is divided into coil flooring and sheet flooring; the products introduced in this article: LVT, WPC flooring are semi-rigid sheet plastic flooring, and SPC (RVP) flooring is hard sheet flooring. At present, there are three main types of LVT flooring: vinyl locking, dry back, loose lay. From another point of view, PVC flooring can be divided into: ordinary (Dry Back) lock (click) glue-free (Loose lay) according to the assembly method. At the same time, WPC wood plastic flooring and SPC stone plastic flooring are also in active promotion and rapid development in domestic and foreign markets.

1.Comparison of dry back and loose lay in plastic floor


1.1 Similarities: all belong to PVC floor, the specifications and dimensions are the same, and some of the dimensions are the same;


Dry back mainly has eight specifications of 942*157, 1227*157, 1227*187, 1227*235, 914.4*101.6, 470*470, 608*308 (unit: mm);


The loose lay mainly includes 942*157, 1227*157, 1227*187, 1227*235, 470*470, 608*308 (unit: mm).


Click mainly has 936*150, 1220*150, 1220*180, 1220*228, 1500*228,600*300 (unit: mm) these specifications, pay attention to compare with dry back.


WPC currently has two specifications: 1217*146, 1217*178, 596*296 (unit: mm).

1.2 Differences


A. Installation method: Dry back requires hydration glue and other assistance, also called glue down, loose lay can be directly laid (the loose lay bottom material has a layer of black skin on it, and it can’t be pushed on a flat surface.)


B. Thickness: dry back. Our factory only starts with 2.0mm thick bottom. We don’t do anything below this specification. Loose lay is generally consistent with Click 4.0mm, 5.0mm


C. Wear-resistant layer: Under normal circumstances, we now do dry back with a thickness of 2.0mm and 2.5mm, wear-resistant 0.1mm-0.5mm, dry back with a thickness of 3.0mm, wear-resistant 0.1mm-1.0mm, 2.0mm In principle, the wear resistance of 0.5mm or more can be made with 2.5mm, but it is not cost-effective. In addition, the formulation of the base material and the intermediate material must be changed and tested. Now the factory basically does not do it; loose lay currently, The wear-resistant layers of 4.0mm and 5mm are basically only used for wear-resistant layers of 0.3mm and 0.5mm, for the same reason as above.


D. Price: Dry back is cheaper, loose lay is more expensive


E. Keeping in good health: It takes 24 hours to keep in good health after dry back tempering. Looselay is the same as the lock series, which takes 48 hours.


F: The flexibility of the two is different. The loose lay product is obviously much softer than the dry back. Such characteristics can also be used as distinguishing features. At the same time, the most obvious is that there is a layer of black skin on the bottom of the loose lay, which can be distinguished by softness and hardness with a nail scratch test.


2. The composition of plastic floor


PVC floor ingredients: PVC resin powder, stone powder, stabilizer, carbon black, the main components are polyvinyl chloride and stone powder.


The plastic floor is composed of backing layer, core layer, glass fibre, decorative paper and wear layer from bottom to surface.


3. PVC certification


The current certifications for PVC products include Floor score, DIBT, CE, ISO14001:2004 and ISO9001:2008, and TÜV Rheinland.


4. The most critical product indicators of PVC


• Stability: Product shrinkage and expansion rate 80℃ 6 hours. 0.25%, 0.15% (line standard)


• Heating warpage: 80℃ 6 hours EN<2mm; Enterprise standard: 1.2mm(dryback); 1.0mm(click);0.5mm(loose lay)


• Lock pull force: normal temperature (23℃) 5.0mm>13-15kgs/5cm.


•4.2mm>12kgs/5cm.


• If V buckle is used on the short side, 4.2mm>15-18kgs/5cm.


• Peeling strength (peeling strength): the bonding strength of the color film and the middle material


• Scratch resistant and abrasion resistant


• Brightness: 10+/-2.


5. Floor purchase area calculation: If the area to be paved is 50 square meters, because the floor to the corner needs to be sawn off, and the general floor loss rate is 5%, so the actual area is 50* (1+5%) =52.5 square.
